Scheherazade, Editor & Field Reporter

Scheherazade is the resident editor at Sarah D Magazine. She spent her teens watching silly people do too many drugs, and wrote off cannabis as one of them. But after painful surgery recovery and a persistent case of insomnia, she discovered it was safe way to feel good again! She owns two vaporizers and likes medibles, and believes in health first learning new ways to be healthy and happy.

Scheherazade created the Style Guide for submitting articles, so if you have some great story ideas be sure to look that over!

They are a dynamic duo of eccentric cannabis culinary artists who are on a mission to spread the word about the many health benefits of the hemp seed and cannabis sativa plant around the globe. Their concept, Beyond Brownies, has a core value of honoring the cannabis plant's medicinal value by marrying it with wholesome, nutritious foods. We are living proof it is possible to incorporate cannabis into a healthy lifestyle without ever even having to actually smoke. We aren't against smoking, we just know that for some patients it is easier to ingest deliciously!

Alex Sussin aka Miss Tropical 420, Contributing Writer

I've been an avid medical marijuana advocate and patient for seven years. I invent hemp products as a hemp entrepreneur and I've had my own hemp clothing line called Mary Jane HempWear. For the past year I've been working as the Director of Merchandising for WeedTRACKER.com where I created Weedtracker HempWear. I'm a cannabis connoisseur, a knowledgeable grower, and I was a pin up model and production assistant for Sarah Diesel's Pin Up's for Patients 2010 Calendar as Miss Tropical420.

Denise-Blanchette

Denise Blanchette, Contributing Writer

I am a Eco friendly, PVC and Sweatshop-free Fashion Designer based in Los Angeles. To help the environment, protect human rights and fight Global Warming. What attracts me as a designer to hemp textiles are their natural performance attributes and their low impact on the environment. Hemp fibers are highly absorbent, UV resistant, antimicrobial and long lasting. Growing it also requires less water, hemp also produces more fiber per acre than trees and can be renewed two to three times per year. Hemp is a miracle fiber, lets put it to use!

I try to always go on an adventure at least once a week. It’s a habit my father instilled in me with our Saturday morning daddy daughter adventures. We would wake up early on Saturdays and just see where the world took us. From trips to the Baton Rouge zoo to a cruise on a real tugboat whose captain my daddy bribed, we always found something new, exciting, and special to share. I have continued this quest for adventure on my Sundays off in the playground they call Hollywood.

Matt Stone, Contributing Writer

Matt Stone has been an advocate of Cannabis for many years. His relationship with Cannabis began in his early teens when he and a friend decided to try their hands at indoor cultivation. The love affair has been off and on ever since although, the passion and thirst for knowledge has never slowed. Currently, Matt is an important ingredient to the success of Oaksterdam University’s Horticulture Department as the Horticulture facilitator and instructor for the Los Angeles Campus. Matt is also the Membership Coordinator for the Medical Cannabis Association. Matt also heads the Marketing and Creative Development of Ajnag, a cannabis lifestyle social network and the creators of the first Cannabis Locator App for the iPhone. This youngster is a new breed in the industry, and is still blossoming into a vigorous force that will surely help pass on this once underground tradition to the many new, up and comers.

Georgia O'Kief is a fake name, but the person behind it is a real artist who constantly engages with the visual arts world. When she's not pondering Picasso or toiling in her own studio, you can find "Gia O" milling around at the beach, cooking in her kitchen, practicing Tai Chi, or sharpening her fine motor skills on her OG Nintendo. She enjoys craft beer, fine and exotic cannabis, and is an avid t-shirt collector. She graduated with honors from Oaksterdam University and has a degree in textiles (GO HEMP).

Danielle-Martinez

Danielle Martinez, Contributing Writer
My name is Danielle Martinez and I am a Medical Marijuana Patient. I previously viewed Cannabis as the dangerous “gateway” drug that ruins lives. Eventually, I gave Cannabis “a shot” while attending Undergrad for Psychology. Soon, I started using it in combination with Psychotherapy to manage my Depression and Anxiety Disorders. It was shocking to find how beneficial it was for me! I began exploring a healthier lifestyle that so happens to include Cannabis as a daily part of my health regime. I moved from Azusa, CA to Los Angeles, CA due to lack of finances and support. Initially, I worked within the Cannabis community by helping provide edibles to local Medical Marijuana Collectives. Now, my involvement is less direct but I remain active by participating in various Cannabis related projects. My primary focus is “Doing the Hollywood Hustle” here in LA by Singing, Acting, and working production on personal endeavors. Currently, I co-host a weekly online radio show with Shelly Martinez… my sister! “Fun Time Radio” discusses a wide array of topics including Medical Marijuana!
